Okay so we have been talking about buying a laptop for months, probably closer to a year. Well we finally get one today. Joe saw one at Future Shop last week that was a really good deal so he researched it the last week and we went out today and picked it up.
A VERY disappointing sales experience at Future Shop to say the least. We went in knowing exactly what we wanted. We looked at it for 15 minutes waiting to see a sales associate. When they didn't show up I went looking for one. Just as a side note, I know for a fact that they get paid on commission at Future Shop. Okay back to the story, the salesgirl I finally found didn't have the key (Joe wanted to hold it to see how heavy it was" so they found someone who did. When we got a salesman from the department the first (and only) thing he did was ask us if we wanted the "product service program" we listened to him talked, even asked if it was available outside of North America (just in case) but then when he said $399.99 we quickly said no. That was easily 25% of the cost of the laptop, why spend that much on a service program we more then likely wouldn't use.
Anyway after we said no the guy walked away... he went to get our laptop but didn't really tell us that is what he was doing. When he came back he tried scare tactics to make us rethink the service program. Once again we said no. Paid for the laptop and left the store with not so much as a thank you or any acknowledgement that we just made him some pretty easy cash.
The best part though. We were randomly selected by the checkout system to fill out a survey online. I gave them a piece of my mind so no worries. :)
Here he is, I might even get to use it if I can get Joe off it
